How we research and rate
DealsScout is curated by Ali Cetinkaya. This page explains, briefly and honestly, how our recommendations come about.
Our approach
- We check current prices and conditions directly on the provider's site and keep them up to date. Every «checked on» date on a card is real.
- We draw on independent tests, trade publications and user feedback from international sources.
- Researched articles are called comparisons, analyses or guides and state what they are based on. We do not claim to run a test lab.
Rating criteria and weighting
Our star rating is always made up of the same four building blocks:
| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| Value for money | 30 % |
| Features and security | 25 % |
| Speed and reliability | 25 % |
| Support and guarantee | 20 % |
Independence from affiliate commissions
DealsScout is funded by affiliate commissions. Commissions do not influence our ratings, and we deliberately recommend options without a partner programme too.
Example: in our Balkans guide the top pick for Kosovo is Saily, because Holafly's Balkan eSIM, a partner of ours, does not cover Kosovo (→ Best eSIM for the Balkans 2026: Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and more without bill shock).
If a provider later disappoints, we lower the rating, even if it is one of our partners.

Prices change, promotions expire, providers adjust fair-use rules. If something looks outdated or wrong, write to hello@deals-scout.com – we check every report.
