Company profile
GetResponse is one of the pioneers of email marketing: launched in Poland in 1998 – according to the company timeline, Simon Grabowski had developed the first autoresponder in 1997 – the company today serves more than 350,000 customers in 183 countries. The platform is available in more than ten languages, and email support replies in seven (figures from GetResponse, as of 25 October 2026).
The all-in-one approach sets GetResponse apart from the competition: email marketing, visual marketing automation, landing pages, webinars, online courses and paid newsletters from a single provider. Since October 2026, the account can also be connected to AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT via the MCP protocol – free of charge in all plans.
As an EU company based in Poland, GetResponse can be used in compliance with the GDPR: the data processing agreement is concluded electronically when you open an account and is available in your account as a PDF. Standard contractual clauses apply to sub-processors outside the EEA; however, GetResponse does not name the location of its main data centres in the data processing agreement.

FAQ
Is GetResponse legitimate and GDPR-compliant?
Yes. GetResponse S.A. has existed since 1998, is based in Gdańsk (Poland) and concludes the data processing agreement electronically when you open an account; it can be downloaded from your account as a PDF. Standard contractual clauses apply to transfers outside the EEA – for example to Google Cloud for the chat. GetResponse does not name the location of its main data centres in the data processing agreement.
Can I use GetResponse for free?
Yes. "GetResponse Free" is permanently free for up to 500 contacts and 2,500 newsletters per month – with a GetResponse badge in every email and heavily restricted automation. During the first 14 days you can try the premium features for free (as of 25 October 2026).
How much does GetResponse cost for 5,000 contacts?
Starter $54, Marketer $95, Creator $109 per month with monthly billing (US dollars excluding taxes, as of 25 October 2026). With annual billing it is 18% less. GetResponse quotes its prices in US dollars only.
Is there a GetResponse discount code?
No. On 25 October 2026 there was no promotion running on getresponse.com; the only discount is 18% off with annual billing. As soon as we have a verified code, it will appear here first – with the date it was checked.
What are the alternatives?
Brevo for small budgets, Mailchimp for its integration ecosystem.
How do I cancel GetResponse?
In the browser under Profile > Billing ("Cancel plan"). The account runs until the end of the paid period; according to GetResponse there are no refunds as a rule, not even pro rata on the annual plan. A downgrade or a switch from annual to monthly billing is only possible via support.
Webinars – from which plan?
Webinars with up to 100 attendees are part of the Creator plan ($69 per month at 1,000 contacts); Starter and Marketer do not include them. In the Free plan, webinars are possible with a maximum of 10 people and without recording.
Can I move from Mailchimp to GetResponse?
Yes – contacts via CSV export and import; automations and templates have to be rebuilt. Leave unsubscribed contacts out of the export.
